View Full Version : All SF Improving school food - parent input needed!

04-13-2011, 10:45 AM
The SF Food Bank, working with the district SNS department and the Dept. of Public Health, is taking a close look at the SF school meals program, with the goal of improving it to serve more kids better food.

The Food Bank hired a consulting firm to come in and study the program, including meeting with parents, community members, staff, etc. The team will be here the week of April 18-22 during which time they wish to conduct focused group discussions on a variety of topics.

For this type of discussion group, we are looking for parent leaders or parent representatives people who can speak more broadly about the experiences of their community, beyond just that of their own family.

There are more details below on how you can help with this important project!

The topics for parents are:

(1) Student participation and access
Monday, April 18th at 3:00 PM (Location TBD but likely 555 Franklin)
Tuesday, April 19th at 8:30 AM (Location TBD but likely 555 Franklin)

(2) Nutrition and menu development
Wednesday, April 20th at 8:00 AM (601 McAllister, Room A (access via 555 Franklin)).

Do you think you could be available for one of these group discussions? And if not you (or maybe in addition) is there anyone you would recommend be asked to participate? If so, please contact Teri Olle at teriolle@gmail.com.
