Convent Parent Interview?

Just received our application for Convent and I noticed that the interview for parents applying to K is optional. The parents I know that applied last year all had interviews.
Does anyone know if the parent interview was optional last year? Does it carry any weight in the admissions decision? Would love to hear from people whose daughter was accepted about their process.

Sorry I didn't see the question earlier.

Regardless of whether the interview is optional or not, I would take advantage of the opportunity to meet with the DOA so she can connect the app with the actual family. Otherwise, you're just pieces of paper to her. Share with her why you think the school is a good fit and show off who you are as a family. I would have to guess that the DOA enjoys meeting the family; who wants to push a pile of paper around.
