Chicago Public Schools this week announced a restructuring of middle managers or the "mini-superintendents" who now will be called chiefs of schools.

Their names, roles and boundaries for the schools they overlooked has changed with each administration. They've gone from being called area instructional officers (AIO) to chief area officers (CAO) and now chiefs of schools. The boundaries they overlook will be more closely aligned to keep neighborhoods together, and those areas will now be called networks.

Below is a list of the new chiefs of schools. Two positions still remain vacant; a third that is listed as a vacancy was filled Friday but the name of the appointee was not announced. Four positions are being filled with interims.

The only types of schools not placed in one of these networks are alternative high schools.

The chief of schools for Austin North Lawndale Elementary Network will be Annette Gurley, currently the Area 3 CAO.

The chief of schools for Burnham Park Elementary Network will be Shawn Smith, currently the Area 13 CAO. Smith will also be the interim chief of schools at Skyway Elementary Network.

The chief of schools for Englewood-Gresham Elementary Network will be Adrian Willis, currently the Area 14 CAO.

The chief of schools for Far South Side High School Network will be Harrison Peters, currently a CAO. Peters will also be the interm chief of schools for Lake Calumet Elementary Network.

Chief of schools for Fullerton Elementary Network will be Lynda Williams, currently a CAO.

Chief of schools for Fulton Elementary Network will be Shonda Huery, currently a CAO.

Chief of schools for Garfield-Humboldt Elementary Network will be Denise Little, currently the Area 7 CAO.

Chief of schools for Midway Elementary Network is still unknown.

The interim chief of schools for North-Northwest Side High School is Leslie Boozer, the current chief of staff for the chief education office.

The chief of schools for the O'Hare Elementary Network is Isabel Mesa-Collins, currently the Area 10 CAO.

Chief of schools for Pershing Elementary Network is still unknown.

Chief of schools for Pilsen-Little Village Elementary Network will be Stephen Zrike Jr., currently Area 4 CAO.

Chief of schools for Ravenswood-Ridge Elementary Network will be Craig Benes, principal at Talcott.

Chief of schools for Rock Island Elementary Network will be Karen Saffold, currently Area 16 CAO.

Chief of schools for South Side High School Network is Sean Stalling, currently Area 21 CAO.

Chief of Schools for Southwest Side High School Network remains unknown.

Chief of Schools for Southwest Side High School Network remains unknown.
