We're touring Convent in the next couple weeks. We know it's supposed to be one of the best all-girls schools in the city, but since we're not Catholic, I'm wondering whether our daughter will feel out of place. Can current parents tell us how religious the school is? Do non-Catholics feel like they're a part of the community? We're just trying to figure out whether it makese sense to even look at the school or focus our energy on the other all-girls or independent schools instead. Tx!

We are looking at Convent too along with the other Catholic schools. Of all the Catholic schools we've toured so far, the religious component at Convent is less prominent than the other schools. I remember seeing only two religion class a week on the schedule and no mass. Their brochure even talked about teaching their students about Judaism and other religions. Maybe the fact that it's also an independent school has something to do with that. The other Catholic schools have daily prayer and mass (cant remember whether it's weekly or monthly). I would lump Convent more with Hamlin and Burkes than I would with St Vincent de Paul or St Brendans.
