Do all schools visit your child in their current preschool?

Just wondering if most independent schools typically make a visit to witness your child in their own school environment or if only a few do this? One of the boy schools we applied to did visit our preschool, but as far as I know, none of the coeds we applied to are planning to do so. A friend of mine shared that SFDS had visited her preschool already (they had several candidates applying). Any thoughts/ideas on what this all means?

From what I know, the preschool visits are on a case by case basis. I've heard of ADs visiting preschools for kids that are on the cusp of the birthday cutoff - they want to see the children in action and see how they interact when they are in their element.
