From S.F. Business Times (http://www.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/blog/2014/09/salesforce.html?page=all) by Ron Leuty:

As Marc Benioff preps to announce the Salesforce.com Foundation's latest initiative with the San Francisco Unified School District, Philip Marcoccio readies his classroom computer lab for another swarm of Grattan Elementary students.

"Mr. Philip" as he's known around the SFUSD school in Cole Valley is a sort of renaissance man on a shoestring budget. Since SFUSD cut the job for budget reasons about five years ago, his computer lab and his full-time position are largely funded by Grattan's PTA organization.

He not only runs the lab, decorated by strings of lights and various oddities, but he opens car doors each morning as parents drive up to drop off their children. He staffs an after-school environmental club and he is setting up a five-tier beehive on the school's roof, paid for by selling honey last year from the first-generation hive, for a student-beekeeper program.

Sporting a baseball cap and a quick greeting with an accent that betrays his native Providence, R.I., his approach is sincere as he builds confidence in kids.

"I'm not going to let you go," he says, describing his philosophy of helping kids expand their horizons, "but I am going to walk you out to the deep end."
