Hi, I'm a 9th grader who wants to retake the shsat since i got no offers last year. For anyone who's taken it, are there any tips and how harder was it compared to the 8th grade test?

It's definitely harder. In short tougher questions, less seats by magnitudes (think 4000 vs 100), but still thousands vying for it.

I've done a bunch of videos on my YouTube channel on various aspects pertaining to the SHSAT. Additionally many are SHSAT 9 specific. They can be found here: https://www.GregsTutoringNYC.com/SHSAT9.html

As well, some handy videos and PDFs highlighting some of the topics:

among so many others including my SHSAT POTD (Problem of the Day) ongoing right now; here's some past POTD including SHSAT 9 problems https://www.GregsTutoringNYC.com/SHSATPOTD.html

And remember SHSAT 9 is a superset of SHSAT 8 so you need to have mastered all of SHSAT 8 when considering 9 as well.

The SHSAT is currently delayed so you have at least until after the winter break if you need to catch up on anything.

Feel free to email me of you get stuck on any particular problem.
