The Catholic schools we applied to will be sending out their decisions some time next week. Anybody know why they do it so much earlier than independents and publics? We really would like to know what all our options are before making the final decision so what should we do until then?

No idea why it's so early. If you get into a Catholic school, you should just put a deposit down. Then when the private school decisions get mailed out, you can decide then. Obviously, you may have to forfeit the deposit but if it's options you want, that's probably the only way.

Anybody receive the decisions from the Catholic schools yet? Would be curious to know where you got in and whether you're a parishioner or not.

I know acceptance and waiting list letters from Saint Vincent de Paul and Notre Dame des Victories went out this past week. Most parishoners I know from SVDP got in... NDV was a bit trickier, lots of people I know got waiting list letters.

If you are still waiting for a spot at a Catholic school, try to be patient. As some of the families find out their private school acceptances or public school assignment, a couple of the spaces may open up, especially for places like SVdP, St. Brendan's and NDV.
