If you're interested in where a particular school placed, just reply to the thread with the school name/number.

If you are a current public school parent, we would love it if you would share a review of your children's school on the site.

Hunter is not subject to the state standardized tests as far as I know. The only Success Academy school with a 7th grade result is Success Academy - Harlem 1 (84M351). Harlem 1 would have been 9th in Math and 22nd in ELA, putting it at 15th overall in composite ranking.

Do you have information on Staten Island schools? Staten Island is frequently ignored. Also, for further clarification, when you listed "NYC's top public middle schools based on 2014 New York State ELA & Math Tests" Both Staten Island and Bronx were NO WHERE to be found on this top 25 list. So, I just wanted to be sure: NO SCHOOLS in Staten Island and the Bronx even made the top 25?? Reason: I am scheduled to speak to Chancellor Farina on April 13th in Staten Island, arguing the quality of G&T schools in Staten Island. My question to Ms. Farina simply asks: "Why are the BEST schools in Staten Island not competing as well as the BEST schools in Brooklyn?" I am gathering data to prove to Ms. Farina that BEST Staten Island middle schools are not achieving the bottom line success rates as well as the BEST Brooklyn Schools.

    Hi Celeste,

I'll post the rankings of the Staten Island schools shortly. However, please remember that this ranking is just one data point for evaluating a school. There are other factors to consider. Also realize that the rankings use only test scores from 7th grade, not all the grades. I used the 7th grade scores since that is one of the criteria considered for high school admissions.
