Hunter Elementary Decisions - Anybody waitlisted?

Just found out my child was waitlisted at HCES. Anybody else too? Does the waitlist ever even move????
Just feeling pessimistic. Happy that at least we still have a chance, but not so happy because we're in indefinite limbo for who knows how long.

I know this post is almost a year old, but did your child make it off the waitlist? Do you know if the school will tell you your position on the waitlist?

the school only tells you your position if the child is between 1-6. The others are placed in the general pool.


I know for 2017-2018, at least one girl from the general pool was accepted.

Thanks. We were hoping a friend of our daughter would get off the waitlist. This year they aren't telling parents their child's position on the waitlist (according to my friend). Just wondering if they generally pull from the list and how deep they go.

The child of our friend just got off waiting list. We are so happy for the family!
It’s a very very complex process. To our understanding a child left the spot and they replace him or her with another hild that matched that child in terms of personality, learning style, intelligence....so they could keep the group the same.
This is just what we understand. Good luck trying to figure out the process but you can’t ever know for sure.
