    District 26 G&T Kindergarten Schools 188, 203, 133,115

    Hi

This forum is only for District 26 G&T kindergarten application.

According to the score report posted on DOE, in District 26 there are 60 children between 97 and 99; 114 children between 90 & 96.

Let's discuss all the possibilities of getting our children to G&T kindergarten schools in District 26 (115, 133, 188, 203).

    Thanks.

Hi, thank you for opening this thread.

My daughter got 96, and this is our first time applying for a G&T k program, much appreciated for any suggestions in advance. Looks like seats remain the same as last year (not 100% sure though), if we got 24 in 203, 48 in 188, 47 in 115, and 21 in 133, total is 140. Does anyone have any idea on how many siblings from other districts might come to these schools, based on the data from previous years?

    Thank you.

there's no official data about # of siblings.

Here is a story. A couple of years ago, a kid scored 99 in D26. The kid didn't get any city wide offer. 203 told the parents that the kids was on the waiting list spot almost 100. They were shocked. The kid went to 188 GT.

At that time, there were ~45 kids in D26 scored 99. Assume all these 45 kids who scored 99 are in the back of the waiting list, there were still 55 kids ahead of them on the waiting list. Dont' forget, there were another 25 who were already accepted in the GT class. The sibling situation was unbelievable at 203. Siblings can tag along and get in GT as long as they scored 90+. Probably most of the 203 GT class were not 99 kids.

We are in 203's waitlist #3, but our first school selection is 188, where we are #7 on the list. No idea if we can get a spot on either one.

Maybe you have a chance in PS 203 , one family will not accept the offer . So, you are gonna be #2 in the waitlist.

How did you get this information? Does the school's parent coordinator provide this info? Wondering what are the chances of those listed 10 and below especially if the list is already moving before the registration deadline for those with offers.

The mother told my friend that they will not accept the offer because they are gonna move to Long Island.

Good to know that people won't hold on to the spot till the last minute. Thanks for your info, it gives some of us a little glimmer of hope.

Can anybody shed any light on the difference between PS 133 and PS 115? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. We currently have a spot in 133 but are also on a single digit # waitlist to 115. We are not familiar with the schools. Thanks!
