    District 30 Queens G&T programs

    Dear District 30 G&T parents,

Our child scored 95. Will this be enough to get into a District 30 G&T program? Which District 30 G&T program is better than others? Is PS 217 on Roosevelt Island a District 30 G&T school as well? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

With 95 your chances are practically NIL with citiwide schools. And also 122 (Q300 is citiwide). Yes 217 is G&T and It has one unique advantage. ( apart from the daily calming water view for the kids). It is a D2/D30 joint school. It allows for your kid to be eligible for D2 Middle Schools. I know it is a long way off for you .. but it is a big advantage!

Thanks for starting this thread. I'm in District 30 as well with a score or 97 entering 1st grade. Last year, a few children from my son's school went to PS 166 with scores as low as 90. I've heard that PS 122 is the hardest to get into out of the five. I've heard good things about 85 as well. I'm not familiar with 150 or 217.

Thanks so much for the replies! Yes, we know that with a 95 we cannot qualify for Citywides. Just wondering what our chances are for District 30 (PS 85, 122, 150, 166, 217).

I think 95 is a solid score, but everything being a lottery, who knows. I have complied all currently available info re open houses. You'll probably have many of your questions answered when you tour:

PS 166: April 30 and May 6 at 8:30 AM (no RSVP needed)
    PS 122: April 30 at 2:45 PM
PS 217: April 30 at 8:30-9:30 or 10-11 (need to register)
    PS 150: April 30 at 2:45-3:45
    PS 85: ?

yes, except 166. they have a tour on 5/6. Also, sign up for 217 ASAP as their 10-11 slot is already filled.

    150. It has a long history of G&T programs.
