    Be careful regarding York. Two things at least: any score you may have seen was most likely not the Grade 9 one, and York is not as low as you may think especially when historical data is considered.

    As for prep, what works for one person does not necessarily and/or completely work for another person. First and foremost don't follow a prescription, and figure out what's extraneous or not. Secondly, understand what the test is about, not only in content but what it's testing for. Then incorporate your strengths and weaknesses in a methodical way with feedback. And stay consistent and focused (this does not mean doing thousands of problems like a droid).

    I was surprised too. But, I saw her letter, and she got a 520, and got into York, on the 9th grade exam

    That's very interesting data point, considering they only take 2-3 kids for Grade 9.
