Any thought on the future of citywide GT school

It's already the end of December，no any news about the GT test. If the GT test is ceased this year, it might be not resumed…
If it's the case, any thought on the future of citywide GT schools?
The admission of these schools may be based on the sibling priority and the lottery system.
Will it affect the current students?

So far there is no G&T contract. It's not looking good and they're clearly waiting for the last minute with not telling anybody anything. But have to see. It will have an effect on current students, it already has.

I would bet that G&T is gone. The pandemic and safety of young children will be used as the excuse but the motivations are political and some may say racist.

Well, if they're to be in a G&T class, then, they are or they aren't. How do they continue properly?

If G&T is gone, what students are going to start kindergarten there at all g&t schools like nest, ps300, etc? Are they automatically going to become zoned schools for the children who live there?

Nobody know that G&T is gone, therefore nobody know what the next step after that many be. In fact, even if G&T stays, nobody knows.

My guess is there will become zoned. Me personally would like to see K-12 school like NEST split and focus on K-8 or 9-12. I don't think 5 years should be housed in the same building as 17 year olds.


The former principal of NEST knew this coming and chose to jump ship months ago,
