Hunter College High School qualifying tests (ELA)
Can anyone say how Hunter College High School is handling/has handled the qualifications for the Admissions exam this year (which I know hasn't been determined yet) since the ELAs were suspended last year? How are students chosen to qualify for the test, however it is ultimately being administered?

Nothing about the next admissions is known yet.
In the past the first step was to vet Grade 5 NYS ELA and NYS Math scores last time (it you were a NYC resident) it was about 627+ and 628+ respectively which IIRC was like 91%+. If you were a resident and had not taken those, or an out of city resident moving into the city, they would administer a qualifying exam first, or use a similar exams if the student had taken it. Another group for entry was existing HCES (elementary) students who I understand had to take the entrance exam too.Last edited by GregsTutoringNYC; 02-16-2021 at 08:44 AM.

So, just to be clear, it isn't even known this year who is qualifying (or how they are qualifying) to take whatever test it is that is ultimately going to be given?

That's right. No detail whatsoever on any step of the process has been provided yet.
