Received Lower Lab Invite - but live in BPC with child in PS 276 - what to do?
Hi - Randomly we got an invite to Lower Lab Manhattan (Upper east) while our daughter is a Kindergartner in PS 276 in Battery Park City. We are happy with PS 276 and our neighborhood but unsure what to do at this point given Lower Lab is a well reputed school.
She loves studies , does a homework easily and is very creative (drawing, painting, building)
We love BPC as a neighborhood and commuting her to school everyday seems unfair to her and to us. Moving also seems like a less palatable option given we love BPC so much.
Would love to get feedback and thoughts here based on how much is the differential between a G&T school like Lower Lab vs a decent district school like PS 276.
Does it affect her future prospects?
Thanks so much for your thoughts and ideas!!

Congratulations!! LL is supposed to be amazing. I say take it!! Did you just get the call or email? So odd how everything is rolling out this year. What a mess.

If you are happy in PS276, stay with it because you know what you're getting. Lower Lab has a lot of unhappy parents that aired their concerns on insideschools that the website stopped allowing comments.

Just because a school is well known doesn't mean it is a good fit for your child. If moving is not an option, do you really want your child to commute in a post pandemic world with crime on public transportation and all over? And let's be honest, with the current political climate G&T programs will be phased out.....I am sure your child will do well whatever you decide.

Dc is at LL and we're very happy. We commute from downtown and the trip is worth it to us.
