Thanks Gusik and HarlemMomPK2022. We are downtown so focusing on the downtown private schools. The Brooklyn private school admissions are its own nightmare because there are not many spots. *sigh* It will all be over in a week.

Our lottery number is bad, so no chance of G&T. Our zoned school is decent so will hopefully end up there.

Hugs to all of us who are disappointed. The good news is our kids are unaffected. Mine just wants a steady supply of cheese puffs and lol dolls.

Hi! Curious about your lottery number comment. Where did you find your lottery number and how does one know if it’s good or bad?

Hi all, I'm new on this forum, just trying to understand where we are standing as my son was placed on Hunter's waitlist yesterday. Does anyone know or have experience with this?

Currently I believe that you need to ask the DOE directly for this through a FOIL request. Once you get the number you can run it through https://www.GregsTutoringNYC.com/doe-lottery for some feedback (the link is HS centric but will still apply).

Email:ES_Enrollment@schools.nyc.gov with your child’s name and DOB, stating that you are parent/guardian and attach a copy of your ID.

Did anyone hear about the waitlist? Has it been moved at all or anticipated to move?

We are a yes and would love to connect, but we are no where near Forest Hills, sorry. South/Central Harlem.

I'd love to know what you've found out about the waitlist, my son is on it too and we are totally in the dark

In the past, as Greg noted, this needed to be requested via FOIL from the DOE. I believe due to the deluge of requests they chose this year to provide the lottery number to everybody. The relevant information is in a DOE FAQ, under the question "Can I see my random number?":
