    Shsat for 10th grade entry

Does anyone know where I can look for cutoff scores for a 9th grader taking the shsat? Is it the same test as the 8th grade shsat? Thx!

No, the SHSAT 9 is not the same test as the SHSAT 8, and in fact there is not even one SHSAT 8 but many form of it.

The DOE does not officially release scores. However, scores were crowdsources on this site and a summary can be found at https://www.GregsTutoringNYC.com/shsat-cutoffs. Last year's scores were a little lower than normal, that said, technically there is no normal. In any event, a rule of thumb is to add 40 or 50 to SHSAT 8 scores to get an estimate of possible SHSAT 9 score goals.

This all said, don't get too caught up in scores (for any test). Shoot for the unicorn top score.

Thank you. Where can I find out what the shsat 9 covers? I assume all of the review books etc are geared toward shsat 8.

SHSAT 9 covers all of SHSAT 8 plus some additional things. I have links to topic breakdowns for ELA and another for math here https://www.GregsTutoringNYC.com/shsat-faqs
