I'm looking at the DOE's published SHSAT guide. Are the sample questions similar to the actual tests? Or are they easier? Just want to evaluate how much tutoring my son needs based on how he does in the sample questions.
The handbook is a good idea of what some of the questions will look like. However, it is representational example to get familiar with things. As such, there may be additional question types, harder questions, etc. on actual test day.
